Abstract
Arundhati Roy, the celebrated Indian author, won the Booker Prize in 1997 for her debut novel The God of Small Things. This semi-autobiographical work explores the intricacies of a Christian family from Kerala and employs a non-linear narrative to interweave past and present, highlighting the impacts of societal boundaries and personal transgressions. Roy’s activism and writings also extend to environmental issues, non-violence, and human rights. This analysis focuses on her narrative techniques and thematic concerns in The God of Small Things,as well as her broader literary contributions.
