Abstract

Cricket in India, traditionally dominated by men, has seen a significant rise in female participation and recognition in recent years. This article explores the evolution of women’s cricket in India, with a special focus on the development of female cricketers at grassroots and elite levels. It highlights key challenges such as lack of infrastructure, gender bias, and limited media coverage. The study also analyzes the impact of recent initiatives by BCCI and ICC, and outlines the road ahead for women in Indian cricket.
